What I’ve Done
- I have a Ph.D in English from UCLA, with an emphasis on Medieval English and Celtic languages and literatures.
- I taught English composition, business writing, Shakespeare surveys, and British literature surveys from 800 to 1832 (the Norton Anthology of English Literature Vols I & II), as well as basic HTML, and various software applications.
- I worked on the first generation of commercial and scholarly ebooks at UCLA, and at The Voyager Company.
- As a freelance technical editor and writer I tech edited and wrote consumer technology books. I also wrote white papers and blog posts for various companies, publishers, and sites.
- I am a retired Site Admin and Community Manager for the Absolute Write Forums (2006 – 2022), a community for writers.
- I spent several years as a farrier’s gofer and horse-holder.
- I am currently a full-time caregiver for my Mom.
Where to Find Me
I’m not on any social media. I am aggressively pursuing time to sleep, and read and listen to music, when I’m not helping Mom. I do have a Now page.
My Interests
- Apple technologies: I’ve been using Macs since System 6 and HyperCard.
- As much as I love digital technology, I am a daily user of fountain pens, pencils and paper.
- I read a lot, especially SF & F, and non fiction in my academic areas of interest.
- I am an avid bird watcher.
- Here’s what I’m doing now.
